Student volunteers needed!

‘Together’ is an intergenerational project designed to build connections, improve communications, enhance self-esteem, build positive mental health and encourage mutual understanding and respect.

We are looking for female student volunteers aged 16 to 24 who can help with our weekly group sessions for minority ethnic women in Dundee.

Your tasks are to:

• Generate excitement and participation for our Together project
• Research opportunities, activities and resources for reducing social isolation and loneliness
• Promote, encourage, and foster friendships across all age groups and cultures
• Befriend a woman from ethnic minority communities who may have been or feels isolated, bring them into our groups and build their confidence supporting positive mental health
• Help to form trusted networks of support for older people
• Engage with older people to improve their skills to have a better quality of life
• Help and promote to build local community resilience
• Bringing and supporting minority ethnic groups to connect with the wider community
• Create a culture of wellbeing and healthy lives within the communities
• Providing resources and support for disadvantaged groups
• Communicate confidently and kindly with all members
