What is your role in the team?

My role is Project Support. I assist the team with with admin tasks, market research, social media support, and anything else they need help with!

What do you enjoy most about the work that you do?

I love working with the team – everyone is so great and a pleasure to work with. I am learning so much from working at Social Good Connect as I am doing such a wide variety of different tasks which is amazing.

Also, I think it is so fantastic to hear the success stories from our charities and volunteers. It is so rewarding to hear about the difference that has been made and the impact that the use of the platform has had.

What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?

I used to volunteer with my local dance club to help the teacher with a few jazz classes for the younger girls. I used to love going to dancing and it was very rewarding to be able to use what I had learned through the years to help with the younger classes. I love working with kids so it was great to be able to help using a skill I had.

I am currently looking for a volunteering opportunity that will work well with my university commitments and fits in well timewise with the work I do with Social Good Connect. I am really looking forward to getting involved in some of the opportunities on the platform!

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working/what are your hobbies?

I love to spend time with my family and friends – going out for food, going for walks and going to new places and trying new things. Due to everything with Covid, I have been watching a lot of Grey’s Anatomy too – I love a good Netflix binge!

I used to dance a lot when I was at school which I loved but since I have stopped dancing, I have recently started golfing which I’m not very good at but I enjoy! I like to golf with my parents or my friend Aimee – we are both very new to it but we have a lot of fun!

Which of Social Good Connect’s values has resonated most with you and why?

Connecting People – In the past couple of years, I have experienced how important connecting with new people can be and how much of a positive impact this can have on someone’s life. I think this is so important and I love to see new connections that have been made through the platform.

What is your favourite song?

Jenny Don’t Be Hasty by Paolo Nutini

I have always loved Paolo Nutini – I was once standing a few feet from him and absolutely freaked out – it was very surreal! Me and my dad used to sing this when we were in the car so every time I hear it, it makes me smile. His cover of Caledonia is also very high up there on my favourite songs.

Who are the top three people you would have a meal with dead or alive?

Stevie Nicks, Harry Styles and Saoirse Ronan.

Harry Styles – I have always been obsessed with him since the X-Factor days and honestly just don’t think it would be right not to have him!

Stevie Nicks – I absolutely love Fleetwood Mac and would love to hear some inside stories from their time together as a band. I think she would have loads to tell and I would love to hear it all!

Saoirse Ronan – I really like a lot of her movies, particularly Brooklyn and Lady Bird. I think it would be really interesting to hear her talk about all of her past roles and how she felt about them all during the whole filming process.

Can you share your favourite photo with us and explain why it is your favourite?

I have two favourites – I can’t choose!

The first picture is of me and my wee cousin Charlie. He had come to stay with us and it was taken after he had just woken up. This day the whole family was together and I have such good memories of the day!

The second is from when I did Camp America last year. Me and some of the other counselors spent our day hiking, eating, and exploring the areas around camp! It was one of my favourite days from the whole summer and was amazing to see more of Ohio. I made life-long friends with the girls in this picture and really hope I can go back to see them again soon – I miss them a lot!
